Welcome to Brotherhood Barbershop Academy, where education, discipline, professionalism, hands-on training, and opportunity come together.

Our goal is to provide students with the education, technical skills, hands-on experience, discipline, and professional development necessary to pursue a successful career in the barbering industry.

Under the leadership and instruction of Alonzo Simmons, students will receive structured barbering education designed to develop them both personally and professionally. Brotherhood Barbershop Academy is committed to teaching more than simply how to cut hair. Students will learn the importance of sanitation, customer service, professionalism, responsibility, business development, consistency, and representing the barbering profession with excellence.

When you enroll at Brotherhood Barbershop Academy, you become part of an environment built around education, accountability, opportunity, and Brotherhood.

PROGRAM DURATION

Full-Time Students

The Full-Time Barber Program is designed to be completed in approximately 10 months, provided the student maintains the required schedule, attendance, academic progress, practical participation, and training hours.

Part-Time Students

Part-time students should expect their program to take longer than 10 months to complete.

Because part-time students attend fewer scheduled training hours each week, the amount of time required to complete all required barbering hours will extend beyond the standard full-time 10-month program.

Actual completion time may also be affected by attendance, tardiness, absences, holidays, school closures, missed hours, leaves of absence, and the student’s individual progress.

CLASS SCHEDULES

FULL-TIME DAY PROGRAM

Monday – Friday
9:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Full-time students are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes early and be prepared for instruction before the scheduled start of class.

Students are responsible for maintaining consistent attendance and completing all required theory, practical work, examinations, assignments, services, and training hours.

PART-TIME EVENING PROGRAM

Monday – Thursday
5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Evening students are held to the same standards of professionalism, attendance, sanitation, academic performance, conduct, participation, and responsibility as full-time students.

Please understand that enrolling in the Part-Time Evening Program means your program will take longer than 10 months to complete.

Students must complete all required training hours regardless of whether they are enrolled full-time or part-time.

SATURDAY HOURS

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM — IF AVAILABLE

Saturday hours are not guaranteed.

Saturday availability will be determined by Brotherhood Barbershop Academy and may depend on instructor availability, scheduling, school activities, staffing, holidays, special events, or other operational considerations.

Students should not rely on Saturday hours as part of their regular weekly schedule.

Any Saturday attendance or make-up opportunity must be approved by Brotherhood Barbershop Academy.

There are no regularly scheduled Sunday make-up hours.

TUITION & PAYMENT POLICY

Total Tuition: $8,500

Enrollment Deposit: $1,500

The required deposit must be paid as part of the enrollment process unless another written arrangement has been approved by Brotherhood Barbershop Academy.

Available approved payment arrangements may include:

Monthly: $700 due on the 1st of each month.

Bi-Weekly: $350 according to the student’s approved bi-weekly payment schedule.

Weekly: $175 due according to the student’s approved weekly payment schedule.

Students must select an approved payment schedule at enrollment. Once a payment arrangement has been selected, it may not be changed unless Brotherhood Barbershop Academy provides written authorization.

NON-REFUNDABLE TUITION POLICY

All tuition, deposits, registration payments, fees, and other payments made to Brotherhood Barbershop Academy are non-refundable, subject to any refund rights required by applicable law or regulation.

Students are encouraged to carefully consider their financial and educational commitment before enrolling.

Voluntary withdrawal, failure to attend, excessive absences, dismissal for misconduct, employment changes, transportation issues, personal scheduling conflicts, or failure to complete the program do not automatically relieve a student of financial obligations under their enrollment agreement.

LATE OR MISSED PAYMENTS

Tuition payments must be made according to the student’s selected payment schedule.

Students whose accounts become delinquent may be prohibited from attending class, receiving training, participating in practical services, or accumulating additional training hours until their account has been brought into compliance or an arrangement has been approved by administration.

Students experiencing financial difficulties are expected to communicate with administration before the payment becomes delinquent.

RULES & REGULATIONS

1. ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY

Attendance is a critical part of barber education.

Students are expected to:

• Arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled class time.

• Be prepared and ready when instruction begins.

• Properly clock/sign in and out.

• Never clock or sign another student in or out.

• Remain at school during scheduled instructional hours unless given permission to leave.

• Notify administration when an emergency affects attendance.

• Complete required training hours.

• Take responsibility for hours missed because of tardiness or absence.

Repeated tardiness, unexcused absences, leaving early without authorization, or failure to maintain satisfactory attendance may result in disciplinary action.

2. DRESS CODE & APPEARANCE

Brotherhood Barbershop Academy students are future professionals and must present themselves accordingly.

Students must wear approved school attire/uniforms as directed.

The following are prohibited:

• Baggy or excessively sagging pants

• Open-toe shoes

• Offensive or inappropriate clothing

• Clothing displaying vulgar, discriminatory, drug-related, or sexually explicit material

• Clothing that creates a safety or sanitation concern

• Unauthorized alterations to the school uniform

Students are expected to maintain appropriate personal hygiene and a clean, professional appearance.

3. RESPECT & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT

Respect is mandatory at Brotherhood Barbershop Academy.

Students must treat instructors, staff members, classmates, clients, models, visitors, and community partners professionally.

The following will not be tolerated:

• Fighting

• Threatening behavior

• Bullying

• Harassment

• Disrespect toward instructors or staff

• Disruptive behavior

• Theft

• Destruction of property

• Falsification of attendance or school records

• Deliberately interfering with another student’s education

• Refusing reasonable instructions from authorized school personnel

Serious violations may result in immediate suspension or dismissal.

4. DRUG, ALCOHOL & SMOKING POLICY

Students may not attend Brotherhood Barbershop Academy while impaired by alcohol, marijuana, illegal drugs, or any substance that prevents them from safely and professionally participating in school activities.

Students arriving with a strong marijuana odor or another condition that creates a professional, sanitation, or safety concern may be removed from class for the day.

Time missed as a result may affect the student’s attendance and accumulated training hours.

Possession, distribution, or use of illegal substances on school property is prohibited.

5. SANITATION & SAFETY

Every student is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.

Students must properly clean and disinfect:

• Barber stations

• Barber chairs

• Clippers and trimmers

• Combs and brushes

• Razors and implements

• Countertops

• Equipment

• Work areas

Students must follow all sanitation, disinfection, infection-control, blood-exposure, and safety procedures taught by Brotherhood Barbershop Academy and required by applicable regulations.

Failure to follow sanitation procedures may result in disciplinary action and/or removal from practical services.

6. CELL PHONES

Cell phones must not interfere with education.

Students may be required to put away or silence phones during theory lessons, demonstrations, testing, practical examinations, client services, or instructor presentations.

Recording instructors, students, clients, examinations, private conversations, or educational materials without authorization is prohibited.

7. BREAKS

Students will receive scheduled breaks based on their class schedule.

Students must return from all breaks on time.

Returning late, leaving campus without authorization, or extending a break without permission may affect the student’s attendance and training hours.

8. ACADEMIC & PRACTICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Students are expected to actively participate in their education, including:

• Theory instruction

• Workbook assignments

• Homework

• Practical assignments

• Haircutting exercises

• Shaving techniques

• Sanitation exercises

• Demonstrations

• Quizzes and examinations

• Client services

• State licensing examination preparation

• Business and professional development

Being physically present in the building does not replace active participation in the educational program.

9. DISCIPLINARY POLICY

Failure to follow Brotherhood Barbershop Academy policies may result in progressive disciplinary action.

First Violation: Verbal warning and documentation.

Second Violation: Written warning.

Third Violation: Formal disciplinary notice and meeting with administration.

Fourth Violation: Probation and/or temporary suspension.

Fifth Violation: Possible termination from Brotherhood Barbershop Academy.

Serious violations involving violence, credible threats, theft, deliberate falsification of records, severe harassment, prohibited substances, or an immediate safety risk may result in suspension or termination without completing every disciplinary step.

10. COMMUNICATION

Communication is expected from every Brotherhood Barbershop Academy student.

If you are going to be absent, late, experience an emergency, have a payment issue, or have a concern regarding your education, you are responsible for communicating with administration.

Ignoring school communications, payment notices, attendance concerns, or requests to meet with administration may result in additional administrative or disciplinary action.

OUR EXPECTATION

Brotherhood Barbershop Academy can provide the education, instructors, tools, hands-on experience, mentorship, structure, and opportunity—but the student must provide the commitment.

Show up.

Be on time.

Stay teachable.

Respect the craft.

Respect your instructors.

Respect your classmates.

Practice consistently.

Study.

Ask questions.

Accept correction.

Maintain professionalism.

And finish what you started.
